Beginning in 2015, several states have enacted surety bond requirements for Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Third party testers.

Effective July 1, 2015, the State of Ohio has enacted a new bond requirement for Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Third Party Testers.

The Ohio Third Party Tester bond is underwritten on qualifying credit up to $100,000. Bond amounts will vary in Ohio.

We make obtaining this state-required bond quick and easy. Applicants with good credit will pay 1% for the OHIO CDL tester surety bond. Poor credit will require a higher rate.

Other states that require Third Party Tester or CDL tester bonds to protect the public from fraudulent activities of third-party test administrators are Georgia, Illinois, and South Dakota. These states now require third-party administrators of commercial driver’s license tests to obtain a bond to secure payment for retesting drivers if the tester or its examiners are involved in fraudulent activity in connection with conducting the skills test. South Dakota require a $10,000 surety bond. Georgia also requires a $10,000 bond for third party testers. Illinois implement its requirement of a $10,000 surety bond for CDL third party testes on July 1, 2015.
